Good VPS, quick setup

Got the managed VPS hosting. Setup was fast. Everything worked out of the box. Performance is good. No complaints.

Consistent service, fast hosting

I've been with A2 Hosting for a few years now, mostly on their shared hosting. This time I upgraded to a Turbo Boost Hosting plan for a new project. Like before, setup was quick, maybe an hour for the account to fully activate. The speed difference was noticeable, my sites load faster compared to the drive plan I had previously. Their support chat also helped me with a small database issue I had, same reliable service as always. It's why I keep coming back.

Decent deal for a first timer

I needed web hosting for my small business and was looking for something affordable. I ended up getting the Startup Shared Hosting plan with a new customer discount. It brought the initial cost down a lot, which was great for my budget. I also got a free SSL certificate which saved me a few bucks. The process was straightforward, and my site was up within a day. For the price I paid, it feels like a solid value so far. I'm hoping the renewal rates aren't too bad next year, but for now, I'm happy with the savings.

how does a2 compare to siteground? i'm on siteground now but my renewal is gonna be insane. is a2's speed similar to siteground's 'growbig' plan?

J Josh 3 weeks ago
A2's Turbo plans are definitely comparable to Siteground in terms of speed, maybe even a bit faster for certain applications. Plus, the renewal rates are usually better than Siteground's notorious jump.

Yeah, A2's Turbo Boost or Max would be the closest. I switched from Siteground last year for the same reason. Support is good on both, but A2's pricing is more stable long-term, from what I've seen.

Anyone know if A2 does renewal coupons? I saw a great deal for new customers but I'm already with them and my renewal is coming up.

C Colin 1 month ago
Nah, generally renewals are full price. They sometimes have special renewal promos around Black Friday or specific holidays, but it's not common.

I've never seen a renewal coupon code myself. Usually, the big discounts are for new sign-ups to get you in the door. You might be able to sweet talk support sometimes, but don't count on it.

wondering about the difference between their Drive and Turbo plans. is the Turbo really that much faster or just marketing hype?

J June T. 1 month ago
Turbo is definitely faster. Especially for WordPress, you notice it. They have better servers and fewer accounts per server, so your site loads quicker.

It depends on your traffic and site type. For a small blog, maybe not a huge difference. But if you have an e-commerce site or something with more dynamic content, Turbo is worth it imo. Less likely to slow down during traffic spikes.

Hey guys, thinking about moving my site over to A2. How's their free migration service? Is it a pain or do they actually handle most of it?

T Tara 1 month ago
I used it last year to move a wordpress site, they did a pretty good job. Had a few questions but nothing major, was way easier than me trying to mess with databases and stuff.

Yeah it's pretty hands-off. Just submit a ticket with your old hosting info and they usually get it done within a day or two. Just make sure you've backed everything up yourself first, just in case.

Does A2 hosting have a money-back guarantee? What's the deal with that if I sign up for like, a year and decide it's not for me after a month or two?

T Todd 1 month ago
They do! It's like a 30-day full refund thing, and then pro-rated after that for annual plans. I think you gotta specifically ask though, it's not automatic if you cancel.

Yeah, I got a partial refund when I cancelled after about 6 months on a 2-year plan. It wasn't the full amount but it was something. Just read their terms carefully on that.
